As the Cupid strikes this Saturday midnight with its most passionate and wonderful feeling called love, and someone somewhere expresses his love to his/her valentine, we bring to you which lucky couple from the tinsel town is the chief guest at the annual Valentine Day feast and how they got selected.
Today morning St. Valentine while strolling with his darling angels and couple of those lovely cute little Cupids came with an idea that made the whole garden in heaven adoring.
St. Valentine said, “Beautiful people, beautiful world, lets invite the best lovers from the lovely B-town for our annual valentine feast, lets go down and select the best.”
Angel with a blink in her eyes replies with a coy, “St. Valentine it’s a lovely idea.” The same night both St. Valentine and the darling Angel along with a couple of cupids do a Santa Clause and land in B-Town to select the most loving Jodi of all.
While going through their posh bungalows, St. Valentine and the angel ‘Remember the time’ and go on nostalgia tour recollecting the love of Bollywood during those times. Angel says, “The silent era didn’t expressed the love verbally but they did it by their expressions and Kisses.” St. Valentine nods and says, “Actress like Devika Rani in the 1933 movie Karma kissed her co-star husband for 4 minutes long………..”
A cupid jumps in the conversation, “And today after 77 years, this London beauty in her Bollywood duty, Katrina Kaif, refuses to kiss.” “Poor Salman,” says the angel. “So Kats and Salman are out you mean to say,” asks St. Valentine, “But they look very cute and seem to be in love,” the St. probes further.
Angel replies, “They ‘seem’ to be, but they never said that like the others did.” St. Valentine asks for example… “Many like Dev Sahab and Suraiya, Gurudutt and Wahida Rehman, Raj Kapoor and Nargis, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.”
“Ranbir and Deepika Padukone,” the Cupid again interrupts. “Its over, I received an SMS last week,” says St. Valentine. “Oh, Ranbir is so cute and Deepika looks more beautiful with him, so they are also out….” the angel inquires. “Yes my dear,” answers St. Valentine “Pls give me the reason pls.”
“There is a lack of commitment,” replies St. Valentine. “Pls explain,” urges the angel and the Cupids in chorus.
“We all know that the entertainment industry people have strange bed fellows but still I have seen man and women with good characters, a 4 minute kiss in a silent era and such a distance in the talkie era, did anyone tried to find out why?” Angel and the cupid again say in chorus, “Society became more conservative in those days.”
“That’s one of the reason, the main reason was studio system prevailed in those era and stars where regular salaried employees of the studio. Very often the female stars where ‘friendly friends’ of the studio owners. So the hero and the director could not afford to take liberties with the boss’s girl.” “Hmmmmmmm,” the angel and the cupid response in chorus
“Even agreement where made among themselves that they would not mess with the actresses, if anyone was found doing it, then they would have to leave the studio.” “Cupid struck between V. Shantaram and his heroine Jayshree as a result they left Prabhat and founded ‘Rajkamal studio’,” St. Valentine concludes.
A cupid screams, “Yes I remember, I remember, my great grandfather use to proudly tell me bout this.” “People with good ethics and characters, so overwhelming naa,” the angel remarks. “So whom to invite yaar,” cupid gushes “Salman, Kats are out, Ranbir Deepika are not happening, SRK and Aamir are married so no charm, Shahid is lonely, we are left with Saif and Kareena.”
“But darling, the ‘nawab’ is already treating her with a fabulous valentine gift in Europe on the day, he even gifted her a charter plane and top of that even featured in the recent worst disasters of their acting careers ‘Tashan’ and ‘Kurbaan’. Even after that they still love each other so much,” angel informs.
“Point taken,” says St. Valentine and continues, “But they are a flop Jodi on earth how come they can excite anybody in the heaven, need someone who everybody flock to see on screen, my dears I have a reputation, many people celebrate and express love on 14th of February taking my name, I need the most recognizable and the most accepted Jodi from the dream merchants to come give a toast for love in heaven.”
Continues by adding, “Taking all this into account, I have zeroed down on Shahrukh and Kajol, what say……” The angels starts blinking her wings and takes the cupid for a short fly and they all exclaim in chorus, “Yipppiee yeah, vow vow vow, Raj and Simran for dinner in heaven oh I love you Raj, me too Senorita.”
St. Valentine then takes out his violin starts playing the most memorable love songs as they drop the invitation packed in strawberry and flowers at Shahrukh and Kajol’s home while flying and singing back to heaven. True or ideal loves is only on screen or in stories but people and emotions are real.
Bollywood love saga right from the day ‘Hrishchandrachi Factory’ to the latest ‘MNIK’ can be explained and said in a simple words as you don’t know what makes you to fall in love as rightly hummed by Hemant Kumar in the evergreen Dev Saab’s film ‘Solwaah Sawan’, “Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara Na Jane Kis Pe Aayega” the mouth organ played in the film still gives you the feeling of someone special as we wish all of you A Very Loving & Happy Valentines Day.
